OUR INSTRUCTORS

Naomi Patton

Naomi’s passion for yoga began over 20 years ago and is where she has always ‘come home’. Throughout this time she has enjoyed exploring many styles of yoga including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Hatha, & Anusara,
Naomi is an Anusara Inspired instructor and enjoys teaching a variety of classes with an emphasis on an optimal alignment for each individual and a heartfelt purpose for each class. As well as working in class settings Naomi also has experience assisting clients one on one in their recovery from physical injuries and psychological trauma including PTSD.
Naomi believes yoga should be accessible to all regardless of ability or experience. There’s something to be discovered and enjoyed by everyone!

Sarah Downs

Sarah is a London-trained teacher, registered with YOGA AUSTRALIA (Senior Teacher) and has been teaching for 20 years and indulging for 24. She draws upon her knowledge of Ashtanga Yoga (vinyasa yoga using sequences which flow from pose to pose) and Iyengar Yoga (focusing on alignment and endurance with the use of props).
Sarah’s classes use Vinyasa sequences (such as Salute to the Sun) to deeply cleanse the body on a physical, mental, emotional and energetic level. Props are also used to modify Asanas (postures) where required or as a means of inquiry into a posture and its potential to open the body and heart. Pranayama (breath control), meditation and yoga philosophy are also explored in a light-hearted atmosphere. Asana (postures) is only one of 8 limbs of yoga, so Sarah aims to focus on one of the more philosophical aspects of yoga in conjunction with a physical practice for a deeper experience of the Self.

Andrew – Inner Ocean Yoga

InnerOcean …What it means & why
Over the last 20 years, a big part of my life has been practicing, learning and then sharing yoga & meditation. The ‘InnerOcean’ title of my yoga teachings sums up my journey of spiritual practice, living simply in nature and surfing in the ocean.
Nature is my guide, in how it teaches us that ‘change is constant’, from storms and rough ocean swells to blue skies and calm seas…. our lives are no different. For me the key is; going beneath those waves or finding shelter inside yourself from the storm outside. To find your own inner calm of strength and balance as consistently as possible, and along the way enjoy the journey.
I share a simple approach that is suitable and adjustable to a broad range of people and needs. I work on creating healthy flowing movements that consciously connect with the natural breath. My passion is using the yoga movement to be clearer, calmer & more balanced in our minds, allowing us to be free to sit and enjoy meditation.
Yoga & meditation should never be a chore or something negative. I would love nothing more than to create something very positive that you want and enjoy having in your life. In my personal experience, yoga has the full potential to move you to a much happier and lighter state of being.

Megan Jones

Yoga has been my passion of Mine since 1987, through teaching, and has been my entry way into the world of health, healing and happiness.

When you begin to practice yoga, change happens. The simple act of turning up on the mat and facing your self, each day, week or whenever you do, creates change. It enables harmony and balance to seep into your being and then spread out into everything that you do.

I have a genuine belief that health and healing results from the choices we make with food and lifestyle every day, these skills have carved their way into my practice and teachings and are one of the draw cards to my Yoga.
